Michael Steen, chief commercial officer of Atlas Air Worldwide and president and CEO of Titan Aviation Leasing, will join the opening panel of Cargo Facts Symposium 2021 at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26.
Cargo Facts Symposium 2021 will be held live this year at the Wynn Las Vegas from Oct. 25 to 27.
Steen will join the Symposium’s opening roundtable discussion on “The future of freighters: How long will freighter demand remain strong,” which will explore the driving factors behind the increased reliance on freighter aircraft and the necessary network shifts amid ever-changing trade-lane capacity.
Just this week, Atlas announced that it will keep more 747-400F capacity in its fleet by purchasing eight of the large widebodies that it has been leasing.
Atlas is already the world’s largest operator of 747 freighters and is due to receive four more new 747-8Fs next year.
Steen, who holds an economics degree from Gothenburg Sweden and the advanced executive program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, has been at Atlas since 2007. He previously served in leadership roles at DHL and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.
