Guangdong Aerocity signs LOI with EFW for ten A320 conversions

In addition to a ten-conversion launch order for the A321P2F, EFW now has an LOI for ten A320 conversions.

Just one day after announcing Vallair as the launch customer for its A321P2F conversion program (click here for that story), EFW followed up with the news that China-based Guangdong Aerocity Holding Co Ltd (GDA) signed a Letter of Intent “for a potential order of 10 A320 Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) conversions to be carried out by EFW.” According to EFW, the LOI’s validity period is until the end of 2018.

Guangdong Aerocity Holding Co, formed in 2015, is an investment firm with a focus on aviation. In 2016, Shanghai-based Juneyao Airlines took an RMB90 million (US$14.2 million) stake in GDA, and we point out that Juneyao’s fleet is made up of forty-one A320s and twenty-six A321s. So, if the LOI is firmed, feedstock will not be an issue.

The A320P2F will offer ten-and-a-half  88 x 125 main-deck pallet positions, and seven LD3/45W lower-deck positions.
