Pionair Australia BAe 146-300QT enters service for Qantas Freight

Pionair Australia has put its first QT (E3150) into service, operating for Qantas Freight on an basis [FAT 005271]. The aircraft is mainly flying between Sydney (SYD), Melbourne (MEL) and Launceston (LST).

The Australian carrier previously confirmed to Cargo Facts that it had purchased three QTs from Germany-based WDL Aviation earlier this year for growth. Unit E3150 was ferried to Australia in September.

last week ferried the second QT (E3153, ex-ASL Airlines Spain) from Germany to Australia.

 also has four BAe 146-200QTs and one BAe 146-200QC, operating overnight flights on the Eastern Seaboard of Australia for its main customer Virgin Australia.

With the transfer of all three QTs, no longer operates any freighter aircraft. The company only began cargo operations toward the end of 2018.
