Grant became COO of ASL Aviation in 2021 and still serves as chief executive of ASL Airlines Europe. He has more than fifteen years of experience within the ASL group, specifically in aircraft leasing, acquisition, finance, and mergers and acquisitions.

ASL remains committed to modernizing its fleet and recently introduced its first 737-800 freighter with split-scimitar winglets, which will reduce fuel burn by 2% in the 737-800BCF.

“We are increasingly excited about new developments in the next generation of innovative cargo aircraft,” Grant told Cargo Facts. “ASL has seen an imbalance in capacity and demand for freighter aircraft through COVID and immediately post COVID, and looks forward to increasing demand in 2024 to catch up with the current overcapacity situation.”

ASL became the third 737-800F operator in the United Kingdom after placing its first 737-800BCF on the ASL Airlines UK certificate in June 2023. The group took the first step in expanding its presence to Australia in April 2023 after purchasing Pionair.

In addition to its 737NGs, the group took redelivery of the first ATR 72-500F converted at the Airplane Delivery facility in Agen, France (AGF), in July 2023, and placed the regional freighter on its ASL Airlines Ireland certificate.

Cargo Facts EMEA 2024 will provide attendees with an overview of the pivotal events that shaped the industry in the past year, while analyzing market conditions, trends and new developments.
