Avianca will soon take redelivery of its first A330-200P2F (1342), which arrived at the Mobile Aerospace Engineering facility in Mobile, Ala., (BFM) in September 2023 ahead of its conversion with EFW.

The airline told Cargo Facts in June 2023 that it plans to add four A330-300P2Fs and -200P2Fs by 2025 as part of its widebody fleet expansion.

“As we receive additional capacity and much better capacity, it’s our commitment to Latin America,” Elias told Cargo Facts at the IATA World Cargo Symposium 2024 in Hong Kong on March 13. “So, we will stick with the strategy of being the best carrier within Latin America, to Latin America and outside Latin America.”

Elias, who has more than eight years of experience in the airline industry, became senior vice president of Avianca’s cargo division in September 2023. Previously, he held several positions at LATAM Airlines.

Cargo Facts LATAM will provide attendees with a forum to engage with key decision-makers in the air cargo market in the Latin American region.
