Zak served as the commercial vice president at Challenge Group before being appointed chief commercial officer in April. He previously held deputy manager and managing director roles at Global Airline Services.

Challenge Group is set to diversify and triple its widebody freighter fleet over the next five years after it decided in 2021 to convert four 767-300BDSFs and four 777-300ERSFs with IAI, adding to the four 747-400Fs it operates. The group took redelivery of the first European 767-300F conversion in August when the 1996-vintage unit 25588 (ex-Air Canada) emerged from the IAI conversion line at the Jat Tehnika facility in Belgrade (BEG).

“What we envisioned was having the four 747Fs complemented by the 767-300BDSFs for the short haul and having the 777-300ERSFs joining us so we can get familiarized with them as soon as possible to support our expansion as a global player,” Zak previously told Cargo Facts.

Challenge rebranded its three airline subsidiaries in 2022: Belgium-based Challenge Airlines BE, Malta-based Challenge Airlines MT, and Israel-based Challenge Airlines IL.

Cargo Facts EMEA 2024 will provide attendees with an overview of the pivotal events that shaped the industry in the past year while analyzing market conditions, trends and new developments underway.
