Etihad Airways took delivery of an A330-200F (1524) from Airbus, bringing the Abu Dhabi-based carrier’s freighter fleet to a total of ten units.
- Seven owned: Etihad now operates seven freighters of its own, including three 777Fs as well as four A330 freighters.
- Three ACMI leased: Etihad ACMI leases one 747-8F and one 747-400F from Atlas Air, and one 747-400ERF from Air France-KLM’s Martinair subsidiary.
In addition the the freighters now in its fleet, Etihad has one more 777F and one more A330-200F on order.
Etihad’s neighbor and competitor, Dubai-based Emirates, also recently added a freighter, taking delivery of a 777F (42232) on dry lease from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) . This bring’s Emirates freighter total to thirteen.

- Two ACMI leased: Emirates ACMI-leases two 747-400ERFs from TNT Airways
Emirates has two more 777Fs on order through lessor DAE.
The Gulf Region’s other two big carriers, Doha-based Qatar Airways, and Jeddah-based Saudia, have not taken delivery of any new freighters in the last month, but both are in the process of expanding their freighter fleets. At the recently concluded Farnborough Air Show, Qatar placed an order with Boeing for four more 777Fs, and Cargo Facts believes that the four 777Fs ordered in June by “Unidentified Customer(s)” are destined for Saudia.
