Titan Airways’ Harrington joins Cargo Facts EMEA 2024

Alex Harrington, commercial director of Titan Airways, will join Cargo Facts EMEA 2024 for the panel discussion “The latest in narrowbody freighter conversions” on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 15:15 (GMT +1).

The sixth annual Cargo Facts EMEA event takes place Feb. 5-7 at the Hilton Amsterdam, where industry leaders will gather to share their outlook on the air cargo sector in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Harrington  has been with Titan Airways for nine years, first as business development manager for two years and in his current position for seven. He previously  was regional sales manager for southern Europe and South Africa at CAE Global and assistant manager for commercial jets at Air Partner.

United Kingdom-based Titan Airways was the second operator of A321 freighters, taking its first at the beginning of 2021. It added its fourth A321-200P2F to its Airbus narrowbody freighter fleet, which averages twenty-one years old, in July 2023. The airline may add one more A321F but does not plan to exceed five, Harrington said at Cargo Facts EMEA 2023.

“Titan Airways is cautiously optimistic that 2024 will be a better year than 2023, but we are not expecting a full recovery,” Harrington said. “Significant challenges remain with volumes, yield and surplus capacity, meaning in the short term Titan is laser-focused on delivering excellence for its existing clients whilst remaining flexible to take advantage of any opportunities should they arise. We believe strongly in the economics and performance of the A321F that over the long term, it remains a very wise investment.”

As part of Titan’s long-term strategy to use an all-Airbus fleet, the carrier completed its transition from its 737 Classic freighters in April. In addition to the A321Fs, Titan continues to operate one 2006-vintage A330-300P2F on a CMI basis for Geodis.

Cargo Facts EMEA 2024 will provide attendees with an overview of the pivotal events that shaped the industry in the past year while analyzing market conditions, trends and new developments underway.
