2020 express volumes up amid lower yields

The air express business in 2020 was a lot like 2019

DHL begins transferring 767 ops to Amerijet

Driven by a surge in business to consumer e-commerce growth, both international and domestic air express posted record growth in 2020. That sounds a bit like 2019. While 2021 also looks to be strong, after years of declining package yields the focus must shift to revenue quality as profit margins are under pressure.

All four major express companies – DHL, FedEx, UPS and SF Express – saw volumes in their main markets increase substantially.
