IAI’s 777-300ERSF program took a step forward when the prototype took its first flight in March. The aircraft has not flown since then, but flight tests will resume shortly, the company recently told Cargo Facts.

IAI’s “Big Twin” widebody conversion will enter service with the likes of Kalitta Air, Emirates, EVA Air and Challenge Group.

In the past couple of years, IAI has achieved two milestones in Europe, with the first European 737-800 conversion in June 2022 at the Atitech facility in Naples (NAP) and, more recently, the conversion of the first 767-300ER at the Jat Tehnika facility in Belgrade (BEG).

Matalon, who joined IAI in 1981, was appointed vice president and general manager of marketing for IAI’s Aviation Group in January 2019. He served in various roles at the company before serving as chief executive of IAI subsidiary Aerohandling Ground Handling Services Co.
