This week we have published breaking stories about three of the worlds biggest cargo players. At the Air Cargo China event we covered Cargolux’s new Cargolux China joint venture and hints about a third hub in the US, and Qatar Airways trans-Pacific ambition; while from the US came the story of Atlas Air’s transformation into “a different company.”
With the weekend almost upon us, we offer a few videos of these three airlines in action, starting with a short but stunning slow-motion video of the moment of touchdown of a Qatar Airways 777F at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport:
And here is a Qatar A330-200F, landing at East Midlands.
Up the payload scale, here is 747-8F performing a very low-altitude wing-wave during takeoff on its delivery flight to Cargolux.
And another Cargolux 747-8 freighter during a difficult cross-wind landing at Amsterdam Schiphol.
Finally, turning to Atlas, while executives at the recent Investor Day stressed the importance e-commerce in the company’s transformation, that transformation actually started years ago, and included, among other moves, the entry into passenger transportation. Here’s a short clip of an Atlas Air 767-300ER taking off from California’s March Field at sunrise.
And to finish on a musical note, here’s a longer video of an Atlas 747-400 arriving empty at Fortaleza, loading all the gear from Paul McCartney’s Brazil tour, and taking off for the next stop.
