CHEP Aerospace Solutions, a supplier of outsourced unit load devices (ULDs), signed a five-year agreement with Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific to manage its fleet of 25,000 ULDs.
Under the agreement, CHEP will convert most of Cathay’s standard 58 kg ULDs to composite units and provide the airline with access to a pool of lightweight ULDs also used by other CHEP clients, including AirBridgeCargo, Air Canada, and Cargolux. In related news, CHEP entered into a five-year MRO agreement with Singapore Airlines Cargo to manage the carrier’s ULD fleet. The contract stipulates that CHEP will service up to 16,000 containers for both SIA and Scoot, the carrier’s low-cost subsidiary airline.
