KLM will retire the last three pax MD-11s in operation.
With a modicum of fanfare, KLM will retire the world’s last three active passenger MD-11 aircraft on 25 October, now flying routes from Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) to Montréal Trudeau (YUL) and Toronto Pearson (YYZ). KLM will fly three special one-hour (sold-out) farewell flights out of AMS for airframes 48556, 48558, and 48559 on 11 November at 11:11 a.m.
With a moribund market for MD-11 P-to-F conversions, the old MD metal will be scrapped. And so it goes.
