Farnborough, Day 2: 295 more orders!

The pace of orders is heating up at Farnborough. Yesterday we saw 227 commercial jet orders announced, and today this was followed with the announcement of 258 more, plus 37 orders for commercial turboprop aircraft, bringing the total to 522 orders. None of the aircraft ordered were freighters, but the day did feature the first ever delivery of an Airbus A330-200F, to launch customer Etihad Airways.

Updating the running total from yesterday, we now have:

Lessors

  • Air Lease: (Steve Hazy’s new company) 51 A320 Family, 56 737NGs, 10 Embraer RJs, and 10 ATR turboprops.
  • Avolon (a new lessor from Ireland) 12 737NGs
  • GECAS: 40 737NGs, 60 A320 Family
  • Nordic Aviation Capital: 7 ATR turboprops

Carriers

  • Aeroflot: 11 A330-300s
  • Azul (Brazil): 5 Embraer RJs, 20 ATR turboprops
  • Emirates: 30 777-300ERs
  • Flybe: 35 Emraer RJs
  • Hong Kong Airlines: 15 A350s, 10 A330s
  • Kartika (Indonesia): 30 Sukhoi Superjets
  • LAN: 50 A320 Family
  • Norwegian Air Shuttle: 15 737NGs
  • Royal Jordanian: 3 787s
  • TRIP (Brazil): 2 Embraer RJs
  • Unidentified Customer (probably Russian): 50 United Aircraft MS-21 RJs
