Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Company Ltd. (GAMECO) this week completed touch labor for the first 737-800 converted to BCF freighter configuration conversion at its MRO facility in Guangzhou (29052, ex-Aeromexico).

Another 737-800 is on its way and will be inducted for conversion soon, GAMECO told Cargo Facts.

The twenty-year-old 737-800 was the first in a three-aircraft conversion order from lessor BBAM. An operator for the aircraft has not yet been identified.

Two earlier 737-800BCF conversions from BBAM have been leased to China Postal Airlines.

Boeing previously announced plans to add a second conversion line at GAMECO that will start early next year. Apart from GAMECO, 737-800BCF conversion lines are active at STAECO in Jinan (TNA) and Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services (BSAS) in Shanghai (PVG).
