Early on Thanksgiving, Air Charter Service’s New York cargo division received an urgent phone call requesting the movement of an unusual cargo – 5,000lbs of steak.
The shipment, for a well-known chain of American steakhouses, was required because of a high-demand for the supplier’s product and flew today [Friday 29th November] on an Embraer 120.
Richard Thompson, ACS’s Vice-President North America, commented; “It’s not the first time we’ve had a request to move an odd type of cargo, but to receive such an urgent request of this nature on Thanksgiving is pretty remarkable”.
He continued: “In the past we’ve arranged charter flights to transport, amongst other things, chocolate box lids, burger buns, Cointreau and even sand to Egypt!”
