PrintTwo American companies have combined forces to expand their capabilities in aerial surveillance. The Momentum Aviation Group (MAG) has acquired Bosh Global Services, a private company that provides services in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), or drones. Both companies are in the command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) business.

MAG supports federal, international and commercial customers worldwide with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance training, operations and support. Michael Archuleta will remain president of Bosh and will become a shareholder of MAG. Joe Fluet, MAG’s chairman and CEO, told Reuters the combined company would have revenues of US$80 to $100 million, about 400 employees and operations in five continents.

Bosh provides UAV services using small, medium- and large-sized drones. Key past and current projects by Bosh include building the UAV training programs for the U.S. Air Force Academy, operating remotely piloted aircraft squadron operations centers for the Air Force, and solving complicated communications issues for the U.S. Special Forces.

The new combined entity already has its first job – MAG will deploy Bosh’s “SuperSwiper” UAV to Europe as part of a C4ISR contract for an intergovernmental agency.

MAG was founded in 2009 by Fluet. Key past MAG projects include interdicting and disrupting more than $500 million worth of illegal drugs over a 14-month period. The company deployed the first unmanned ISR expedition in support of the United Nations, operating an aviation learning center for the Afghan Special Mission Wing and providing manned ISR in South America, Africa and Asia.
