Freighter strategy takes center stage at Cargo Facts EMEA 2024
Cargo Facts EMEA 2024 will gather industry leaders and stakeholders in Amsterdam this week to share insights, developments and trends in Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
A key discussion topic will be fleet renewal strategies being implemented in the region, which already is home to more 737NG and A321 freighters than any other.
At least five EMEA-based carriers became new 737-800 freighter operators in 2023:
- ASL Airlines UK;
- EgyptAir;
- Oman Air;
- Serve Air; and
- TAAG Angola Airlines.
At least two more will join the list in 2024: Kenya Airways has started flying its first 737-800SF, and Camex Adria Airlines was certified in late December with a 737-800BCF.
Meanwhile, on the A321F front, carriers in the EMEA region accounted for twenty-six of the forty-five A321 freighters Cargo Facts logged as of Jan. 26.
After gaining two new Airbus narrowbody freighter operators in 2023 — Turkey-based BBN Airlines and MNG Airlines — the EMEA region is set to add more in 2024, with Swiftair expecting at least two A321P2Fs and Sky Vision entering the market with an A320-200P2F.
