Germany-based urgent transport and logistics company time:matters, Lufthansa Cargo’s logistics subsidiary, is growing its regional activity with additional dedicated flights between Frankfurt (FRA), Birmingham Airport (BHX) and Dublin (DUB) starting today. Flights on the using Businesswings-operated Fairchild Metro 23 converted freighter aircraft will operate Monday to Friday, with evening departure from FRA, according to a time:matters LinkedIn post from June 4. Flights will return to FRA before 7 a.m. the following morning. (Photo/Swiftair Hellas)[/caption] The flight currently offers 1.8 tonnes of capacity but the route could potentially be operated by a larger aircraft, Lars Best, managing director at Businesswings, told Air Cargo World . The new flight is meant to provide capacity solutions for the logistics, medical technology, automotive, machinery and components, and aviation and semiconductor industries, according to the post. The Fairchild Metro 23 aircraft is not typical of Businesswing’s fleet, which consists of two C208 and two D228 aircraft, which offer between 1 and 1.9 tonnes of capacity, said Best. The company secured the Metro through German partner operator BinAir, Best confirmed. Time:matters moves roughly 11,000 tonnes of cargo per year and has its own terminals at FRA and Munich (MUC) for its own express and courier shipments, according to the company's website. While the logistics company is primarily based in Europe, it has been rapidly expanding over the past couple of years. In July 2020, time:matters expanded into the Americas and established a Miami-based affiliate company, time:matters Americas, and expanded its Asia network to include Tokyo (NRT), Bangkok (BKK) and Singapore (SIN) in August 2019. Businesswings offers mainly fixed schedule line haul operations, in-night courier networks or ad hoc air charter options for urgent cargo shipments across Europe, said Best.
