Medium-widebody and 737NG freighter aircraft transactions boom in February FATs

Cargo Facts logged eighty-one freighter aircraft transactions (FATs) during the month of February 2021, up twenty-three from January 2021 — already a busy month. Photo/ECS Group[/caption] Of particular note were transactions involving nineteen 767-300s, whether it be a purchase, lease, delivery, redelivery, induction or conversion order. LATAM, for example, placed an order with Boeing for four 767-300BCF conversions and added options for four more, while DHL Express continued its process of adding freighter converted 767-300s to its fleet. Also noteworthy were 737-800s, which in the past year have come to the forefront in terms of narrowbody conversions. Aero Capital Solutions topped up a previous order with a deal for ten more 737-800SF conversions, while ASL Aviation Holdings has now exercised all ten 737-800BCF conversion options it held with Boeing. February also saw 737-800Fs being delivered to two new operators: Russia-based S7 Airlines and South Korea-based Air Incheon. Below is a complete list of FATs recorded last month. These transactions originally appeared on Page 14 of our March issue, available to subscribers . UPS acquired an MD-11F (48800) from Boeing. The aircraft had recently been withdrawn from the Lufthansa Cargo fleet and ferried to San Antonio (SAT) [FATs 005945-5946]. Titan Aircraft Investments (TAI) acquired a 777F (35606) from Atlas Air and dry leased it back to the group [FATs 005977-5978]. French shipping line CMA CGM placed two newly acquired A330-200Fs (1688 and 1708, ex-Qatar Airways) with Air Belgium for CMI operation [FATs 005963 and 005976]. Turkey-based ULS Airlines Cargo purchased its first A330-300 (349, ex-Sunclass Airlines). The aircraft was ferried from Copenhagen (CPH) to Istanbul (ISL) [FAT 005985]. DHL Express acquired two 767-300ERs (33089 and 33082, ex-American Airlines) from Jetran [FATs 005917 and 005962], and ferried the latter to Singapore (QPG), where it will be converted by Boeing at the ST Engineering facility [FAT 005981]. DHL also inducted for conversion two other ex-American Airlines 767-300ERs. One (33085) was ferried to QPG to be converted by Boeing at the ST Engineering facility [FAT 005942], while the other (33081) was ferried to Mexico City (MEX) ahead of conversion at the Mexicana MRO Services facility by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) [FAT 005947]. DHL also took redelivery of a 767-300BCF (33083, ex-American Airlines), after conversion to freighter configuration by Boeing. The aircraft was ferried from QPG to Panama City (PTY) [FAT 005984]. Jetran acquired two 767-300ERs (29605 and 29604) from American Airlines [FATs 005918 and 006005]. Cargo Aircraft Management (CAM) acquired a 767-300ER (29605, ex-American Airlines) from Jetran, and inducted it for conversion by IAI in Tel Aviv (TLV) [FATs 005961 and 5980]. CAM also took redelivery of two 767-300BDSFs (29431 and 27059, both ex-American Airlines), after conversion to freighter configuration by IAI at TLV [FATs 005975 and 005994]. UPS took delivery of a 767-300F (66810) from Boeing. The aircraft was ferried from Everett (PAE) to San Antonio (SAT) [FAT 005979]. Amazon took redelivery of its first owned 767-300BDSF (25274, ex-WestJet), after conversion to freighter configuration by IAI at TLV. The aircraft was ferried to Victorville (VCV) [FAT 005986]. Amazon also took delivery of a 767-300BDSF (29429, ex-American Airlines) on lease from CAM, and placed it with Air Transport International (ATI) for CMI operation [FATs 005990-5991]. LATAM placed an order for four 767-300BCF conversions with Boeing and added options for four more [FATs 005995-6002]. DHL transferred two more 767-200BDSFs (23017 and 23140, ex-ABX Air) from Atlas Air to Amerijet for CMI operation [FAT 005921-5922 and 005992-5993]. Malaysia-based Raya Airways returned a 757-200PCF (24472, ex-Shanghai Airlines) off lease [FAT 005916]. AerSale acquired three 757-200s (32395, 32381 and 32396) from American Airlines [FATs 005955 and 006003-6004]. India-based Blue Dart acquired two 757-200PCFs (25898 and 27598) from DHL Express. The aircraft had previously been leased by the DHL affiliate [FATs 006007-6008]. Russia-based Aviastar-TU took delivery of a 757-200PCF (27056, ex-American Airlines), on lease from Airwork [FAT 006009]. Kenya-based Astral Aviation acquired a 727-200F (22462, ex-Asia Pacific Airlines) [FAT 005929] DHL placed a 737-800BDSF (29668, ex-Jet Airways) with iAero Airways for CMI operation [FAT 005930]. ASL Aviation Holdings exercised options for nine 737-800BCF conversions [FATs 005964-5973]. The carrier group had taken one option early and has firmed up the remaining nine. ASL also acquired and inducted for conversion two 737-800s ( 33623 and 33595, both ex-Ryanair). The aircraft were ferried to Guangzhou (CAN), where they will be converted by Boeing at the GAMECO facility [FATs 005943-5944; 005960 and 005987]. Russia-based S7 Airlines took delivery of its first 737-800BCF (33545, ex-Ryanair), on lease from GECAS. The aircraft was ferried from Shanghai (PVG) to Ostrava (OSR) for maintenance [FAT 005948]. Spectre Air Capital acquired a 737-800 (30468, ex-SAS) and ferried it to Tianjin (TSN), ahead of induction for conversion to freighter configuration by IAI at the Haite facility [FATs 005951-5952]. Aero Capital Solutions (ACS) ordered ten additional 737-800 conversions from AEI [FATs 005931-5940]. South Korea-based Air Incheon took delivery of a 737-800SF (30501, ex-Shenzhen Airlines), on lease from BlackRock’s Aviation Holdings III Investments [FATs 005956-5957] . Bahrain-based Texel Air placed an order for one 737-800BCF conversion with Boeing [FAT 005974 ] Mexico-based Aeronaves TSM acquired its second 737-400 (24904, ex-GetJet Airlines), ahead of conversion to freighter configuration by AEI [FAT 005950]. Hawaii-based Transair acquired a 737-400 (25104, ex-Flair Airlines) from Automatic LLC and placed a conversion order with AEI [FATs 005982-5983]. Northern Air Cargo acquired a 737-400F (25860, ex-British Airways) from Automatic LLC, which had leased the aircraft to Northern in 2017 [FATs 005958-5959]. Malaysia-based Kargo Xpress took delivery of its first 737-400F (26605, ex-Connect Cargo), on lease from Vallair [FAT 006014]. Northern Air Cargo also acquired a 737-300F (28054, ex-Mistral Air) from Automatic LLC. The aircraft was converted from Quick Change configuration by PEMCO at the COOPESA facility in San Jose (SJO) [FATs 005988-5989]. Indonesia-based Tri-M.G. Intra Asia Airlines took delivery of a 737-300F (28569, ex-Latin American Wings), on lease from Plane Business Leasing [FAT 006006]. Aeronaves TSM also placed an order for two more CRJ200 SF conversions with AEI [FATs 005953-5954]. Poland-based SprintAir added to its fleet a second ATR 72-500F (717, ex-CanaryFly), after conversion into freighter configuration under the Aeroconseil STC [FATs 005923-5925].
