Merlin Labs, a developer of autonomous flight technology for fixed-wing aircraft, has received an experimental certificate of airworthiness in New Zealand. The approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (CAANZ) enables Merlin to enter the final phase of certification there and initiate flight tests with its Merlin Pilot, according to a release today.
