AA Cargo grows Asia footprint with L.A.-Hong Kong service

American Airlines Cargo launched daily nonstop service between Los Angeles (LAX) and Hong Kong (HKG) today, connecting two important global air cargo hubs. The direct flight from LAX will complement American’s extant Dallas-Fort Worth-HKG route.

The route will be operated by an American 777-300, which is capable of carrying more than 40 LD3 containers and is considered to be a cargo-friendly aircraft.

The added service is part of AA Cargo’s network expansion in Asia and the Pacific, said Keijiro Ishii, American’s managing director of Cargo Sales–Asia. “Recently, we also started service to Tokyo-Haneda and Auckland,” he said, adding that demand for the carrier’s cargo services is “strong,” not just in the United States, but also in Latin America.

For more about advanced route development strategies, please join us at Air Cargo World’s new ELEVATE 2016 Conference, Oct. 10, in Miami, where Mike Gamel, Chairman of Mexpress and other industry leaders will take part in a panel discussion called “Advanced Route Development Strategies.” Click here for details.
