Richard Gale, vice president of aviation at DHL Express Middle East and Africa, has joined the Cargo Facts EMEA 2022 speaker faculty for a discussion of fleet modernization and expansion in the EMEA region with other industry executives.
Cargo Facts EMEA will take place live May 9-11 in Dubai for the first time.
DHL Express has made headlines after recent orders and agreements for 777Fs and 767Fs and extended contracts with ATSG and Atlas.
Notably, in the Middle East, DHL has almost completed the fleet upgrade of its Bahrain-based airline, which previously had six 767-200BDSFs but now has four 767-300BCFs, two 767-300BDSFs and three 767-200BDSFs. Another 767-300BDSF (33081) is currently still in Shannon (SNN) after conversion but will soon join the fleet. DHL also has two ATR 72-200Fs in operation in South Africa, with an average age of 28.9 years between them.
Based in Bahrain from DHL aviation’s regional head offices, Gale oversees the management of DHL’s Aviation activity in Africa and the Middle East.
Gale has worked at DHL since 1998, serving in a number of senior commercial roles within the group in the U.K., Ireland, Nordic and Baltic areas. He was also responsible for the management and development of the DHL Aviation Cargo Product.
