MissionGO acquires Avidrone 210TL

Baltimore-based MissionGO will soon take delivery of its first Avidrone 210TL for cargo delivery operations. “MissionGO is working through the logistics of getting the aircraft to our HQ for our flight operations,” Head of Marketing Meghan Crout told Cargo Facts. (Photo/MissionGO)[/caption] The twin-rotor Avidrone 210TL can deliver 25 kilograms of payload 64 nautical miles at speeds of 53 knots. The Avidrone 210TL will join a cargo fleet of MGV100s that can carry 6.8 kg over ranges of 26 nautical miles at speeds of 53 knots. The company said it will be involved in the airlift of a research heart to South Carolina this fall. “Consistent cargo operations are not currently something that has complete FAA or public approval — especially not for medical deliveries,” Crout said. “MissionGO’s delivery missions have all been in research and proof-of-value settings and all have been completed with our MGV100 aircraft.” MissionGO has completed fifty missions in urban and rural environments over the past five years. The Association for Uncrewed Vehicles Systems International awarded MissionGO the XCELLENCE Humanitarian Award at the XPONENTIAL 2023 conference and exhibition in Denver last week. Drones to the rescue Virginia Beach, Va.-based DroneUp recently entered into an agreement with Riverside Health System to expand medical drone deliveries in isolated areas across Virginia’s eastern shore. Meanwhile, another medical logistics company, Gilbert, Ariz.-based Spright, has placed orders for Dufour Aerospace’s Aero2 drone for medical drone deliveries.
