Airwork places 757-200PCF with Swiftair
Spain-based Swiftair has taken redelivery of a 757-200PCF (24617, ex-American Airlines) on lease from New Zealand-based Airwork. The aircraft was converted at the AerSale facility in Goodyear, AZ (GYR), and was flown to Madrid (MAD) via Portsmouth, NH (PSM), and Shannon (SNN) [FATs 005069-005071].
This is the first 757-200PCF to be added by Swiftair since it acquired fellow Spanish cargo carrier Cygnus Air, which already operates two 757-200PCFs (24121 and 26239). More 757Fs will be joining the Swiftair fleet though, as last month US-based Jetran placed an order for three ex-American Airlines 757-200 conversions from Precision Aircraft Solutions, to be leased to the Spanish carrier [FATs 005011-5019].
The first Jetran airframe in that transaction (24613) was inducted for conversion at the Flightstar facility in Jacksonville (VQQ) in April 2019, while the second arrived at VQQ in June and the third landed earlier this month. As it stands, Swiftair will end up with a total of six 757-200PCFs. Although yet to be confirmed, Cargo Facts is expecting that most of these will be operated on behalf of DHL Express.
