Cargo Facts LATAM 2024 returns to Panama this week, bringing together industry leaders, regional executives and stakeholders at the Hilton Panama to share their outlook on market trends and developments in the Latin American air cargo sector.

Regional demand for narrowbody freighters, the aircraft type preferred by most Latin American carriers, is growing as the market begins to show signs of recovery.

Eighteen carriers operate ninety-nine narrowbody freighters based in Latin America; 82% of these aircraft are domiciled in Mexico and Brazil, according to Cargo Facts research.

The narrowbody fleet continues to grow as 737 Classics find new roles in Latin America.

Mexico-based Aeronaves TSM, which has forty-three narrowbody freighters, operates nearly half of the ninety-nine narrowbodies. Brazil-based Sideral is the next largest operator of the type in the region with twelve. Aerolineas Argentinas, Panama-based Copa Airlines, Brazil-based GOL and Modern Logistics all fly 737-800 freighters.

The remaining twelve Latin American carriers operating narrowbody freighters are:

  • Brazil-based Azul Linhas Aereas;
  • Brazil-based Total Linhas Aereas;
  • Brazil-based Total Express;
  • Brazil based Braspress Air Cargo;
  • Colombia-based Aerosucre;
  • Colombia-based AerCaribe;
  • Dominican Republic-based Sky High;
  • Mexico-based Estafeta;
  • Mexico-based TUM AeroCarga
  • Panama-based DHL Aero Expreso;
  • Panama-based Uniworld Air Cargo; and
  • Uruguay-based Air Class Cargo.
