Digital Pulse: Champ to launch Cargospot-neo with Swissport

Ground handler Swissport will be a launch customer of Champ Cargosystems ’ Cargospot-neo cargo management solution. (Courtesy/Swissport)[/caption] Swissport , which operates at 286 airports in 44 countries across six continents, will use Cargospot-neo Handling, which will include three modules that Swissport and Champ will create together, according to a release from Champ this month. The three modules are: Task manager, which enables terminal resources to be directed to perform tasks or execute instructions through mobile devices and other means; Customer portal, which introduces zero-touch processes specific to cargo terminal operation; and Mobile service point, which provides support for customer zero-touch processes typically performed at the cargo terminal. “While the current data exchange in our air cargo centers relies on messaging, the future holds the potential for dynamic, bi-directional API connections with our customers and partners in the air cargo value chain, marking a significant enhancement in our technological infrastructure,” Dirk Goovaerts , Swissport’s global cargo chair and CEO for Continental Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India, said in the release. Cargospot-neo Handling offers automation across handling processes with integrated machine learning and AI, as well as mobile applications. The system is expected to help Swissport achieve 30% warehouse efficiencies, according to the release. Swissport will have access to other Champ services such as Traxon Global Customs and Traxon Global Security, which will provide actionable analytics on integrated dashboards. Cargospot-neo Handling also features IATA ONE Record enablement, allowing Swissport to augment its information sharing within the Champ airline community, the release stated. IAG Cargo to expand IT, digital team IAG Cargo , the cargo division of International Airlines Group , announced March 21 that it is growing its IT and digital team by more than 60 roles, more than doubling the size of its global team. “We continue to advance our digital capabilities whilst progressing on our cloud journey,” David Walker , chief digital and information officer at IAG Cargo, said in a release from the carrier. “We are witnessing a growing customer adoption of digital booking services across our global network, highlighting the importance of our technological advancements.” IAG Cargo is enhancing its e-booking capabilities, working to achieve 100% electronic air waybills adoption and increasing network accessibility to customers, according to the release. As part of this, IAG Cargo is “moving toward a cloud-first approach that will improve data accessibility, scalability and flexibility,” the release stated. Topo launches task management tool Supply chain software-as-a-service provider Topo Solutions has launched a task management tool on its Version 5 platform to streamline supply chain workflows and boost efficiency. The tool automates several functions and facilitates communication to coordinate with suppliers, track milestones and ensure regulatory compliance. A drag-and-drop function streamlines planning and scheduling of resources and tasks. “Too many supply chain players face unnecessary delays and bottlenecks in their workflows due to using or even abusing siloed, manual-heavy systems, which are not designed for modern supply chain needs,” Topo Solutions Chief Operating Officer Tobias Grabler said in the release. “Our state-of-the-art project and task management tool empowers teams to automate workflows and collaborate seamlessly to manage their products and suppliers.”
