Digital Pulse: Delta Cargo offers capacity on 7LFreight

Delta Cargo , the cargo arm of Delta Air Lines , now offers air cargo quotes and booking on two Freightos platforms: WebCargo and 7LFreight . (Courtesy/Delta Cargo)[/caption] The WebCargo platform offers real-time capacity and rates information and instant booking capabilities for airlines globally. 7LFreight is a cargo rate management, pricing and booking tool for North American forwarders. Delta’s general cargo products and tariff fares have been available for digital booking on WebCargo since 2020, according to a March 26 joint release from Freightos and Delta. Delta added its rates to 7LFreight last month. “Building on recent technology-driven enhancements that saw Delta Cargo bookings on the platform grow by close to [three times] year over year, the airline is now expanding the availability of its U.S. export and U.S. domestic fares and capacity on the platform,” the release stated. 7LFreight and WebCargo customers now have access to real-time quotes and capacity for Delta’s global network out of the United States, reaching more than 250 destinations worldwide, according to the release. Platform customers can also access Delta’s Dash Heavy domestic large package express service, the airline’s general cargo and Express Heavy products for U.S. exports. “7LFreight by Freightos already offers digital booking of domestic U.S. LTL trucking, and today we’re excited to offer instant transparent booking of air cargo from the U.S. across Delta Air Lines’ global network,” Freightos Chief Executive Zvi Schreiber said in the release. Global K9 Protection Group to use Nexshore digital ecosystem Alabama-based canine detection company Global K9 Protection Group is integrating a digital air cargo ecosystem into its operations from software-as-a-service provider Nexshore to streamline supply chain operations. The ecosystem will allow Global K9 to share shipment data securely with customers on its cloud-based video management system, GlobalView, according to a release from the company last week. Global K9 captures compliance data during screening operations. The data is stored on a secure platform and accessible across 94 countries using GlobalView. “Our goal is to streamline all cargo and compliance processes and enable secure, collaborative data sharing,” Peter Brittin , Global K9’s senior director of cargo policy and technology development, said in the release. “We are helping customers to reduce paperwork and digitalize, which makes workflows more efficient and cost-effective, and avoids issues around human error when data is manually input.” IGL Logistics boosts insurance offerings with Breeze Charlotte, N.C.-based freight forwarder IGL Logistics increased the number of shipments it insures for customers by 81% after digitalizing its cargo insurance processes with London-based digital cargo insurance provider Breeze , according to an April 4 release from Breeze. IGL has automated most aspects of its insurance process, including quote generation, policy binding and claims processing, by using Breeze’s platform, which integrates with IGL’s shipping booking workflow, according to the release. “Digitizing the insurance process ensures there are cost-effective, speedy solutions available to preserve the customer’s cargo and the relationship between them and their freight forwarder,” Breeze Chief Executive Eyal Goldberg said in the release.
