Digital Pulse: Swissport rolls out employee engagement app

Swissport has completed the global rollout of oneApp, an internal platform for employee communication and engagement. [caption id="attachment_57143833" align="alignright" width="300"] (Courtesy/Swissport)[/caption] In less than a year, more than 60,000 Swissport employees across 44 countries have gained access to oneApp and its intranet counterpart, oneNet, according to a release from Swissport today. OneApp and oneNet are run on a software-as-a-service platform provided by intelligent communications software company FirstUp . “OneApp provides our employees, particularly those on the front line, with exceptional convenience,” Christoph Meier , global head of communications and brand management at Swissport, said in the release. “It enables them to stay informed, empowers them to share insights, and allows them to complete tasks on the move and around the clock.” OneApp features: Global and local content; Work rosters; Employee surveys; Job postings; and An employee directory. An in-app translation feature instantly translates any posts, messages and comments, according to the company. Swissport employees can download oneApp from the Google and Apple stores, and a desktop version is available. CargoAi unveils allotment feature Airfreight technology provider CargoAi has launched an allotment feature on its booking platform that simplifies and automates batch prebooking and allotment for regular air cargo across more than 40 airlines, according to a release this week. The feature aims to eliminate “the repetitive manual shipment-by-shipment process and reduce the potential for errors,” according to the release. This feature streamlines the process by which freight forwarders secure space in batches on flights, cutting the process down from a few days to a few seconds. The solution, already adopted by some of CargoAi’s forwarder clients, allows for plug-and-play into existing processes. “We have been using the CargoAi prebooking and allotment feature since March 2024,” Maxime Boucher , East Coast and Midwest gateways manager at Flexport , said in the release. “This has simplified our prebooking process and we get automatic acceptance confirmation on our bookings, ultimately saving time for our operations. We also no longer have to remember to chase confirmation on prebookings.” The four main benefits of the solution, according to CargoAi, are: Speed; Autonomy, by allowing users to manage bookings without reliance on intermediaries and without needing to chase confirmation; Flexibility, as users can use these features with the company’s CargoMART digital booking app; and Traceability, allowing users to track and trace all allotment bookings in-app and via email. “By automating space bookings, we are not only saving time for our users but also increasing their operational efficiency,” CargoAi founder and Chief Executive Matt Petot said in the release. Coyne first to offer DG booking on WebCargo Coyne Airways is the first carrier to offer booking for dangerous goods on the WebCargo by Freightos digital booking platform. As the carrier adds its capacity to the platform, WebCargo’s reach expands in Africa, the Gulf and the Caspian regions, according to a release this week from Freightos. Since its founding in 1994, Coyne Airways has transported approximately 300,000 tonnes of air cargo, according to the release.
