People: Atlas appoints Goersch as COO

Atlas Air Worldwide appointed Klaus Goersch as executive vice president and chief operating officer this month. [caption id="attachment_57147859" align="alignright" width="242"] Klaus Goersch[/caption] Goersch reports to Atlas CEO Michael Steen and is on the company’s executive leadership team, according to a Dec. 3 release. Steen previously served as COO as well as CEO. Goersch oversees Atlas’ global flight, ground and technical operations, which includes safety, regulatory compliance and operational excellence, the release stated. He serves as the company’s primary liaison with the FAA. He brings nearly three decades of aviation industry experience to Atlas. Goersch was most recently COO at Air India. He has also served as CEO at NEOM Airlines, COO at British Airways, a member of the board of directors at IAG Cargo and COO at Air Canada. IAG Cargo creates head of digital sales role IAG Cargo , the cargo division of International Airlines Group, appointed Daniel Rodriguez as head of digital sales, a newly created role, effective Dec. 2. [caption id="attachment_57147858" align="alignright" width="225"] Daniel Rodriguez[/caption] Rodriguez works to enhance IAG Cargo’s online offerings and accelerate implementation. IAG Cargo customers can book, alter and cancel consignments for free on the carrier’s website, according to a Dec. 2 release. Rodriguez has been with IAG Cargo since 2018 in roles including product manager, transformation manager and small- and medium-sized enterprises business manager. Prior to his work at IAG Cargo, Rodriguez was an air traffic systems engineer at technology company Indra. Busbate to helm MENA region for DHL Express [caption id="attachment_57147857" align="alignright" width="228"] Abdulaziz Busbate[/caption] Abdulaziz Busbate will become CEO of DHL Express MENA, the Middle East and North Africa region of DHL Express , on Jan. 1. He will succeed Nour Suliman, who recently took a non-executive advisory role within DHL Group as president for MENA. Busbate will be based in Bahrain and will report directly to DHL Express CEO John Pearson, according to a Nov. 12 release. Busbate has twenty-four years of management experience at DHL Express. In 2014, he transferred from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain as country manager, where he focused on service improvement and commercial development, according to the release. In 2021, he returned to Saudi Arabia as managing director. Pauly takes new chief information and technology officer role at Jettainer [caption id="attachment_57147860" align="alignright" width="213"] Stefanie Pauly[/caption] Raunheim, Germany-based unit load device service provider Jettainer appointed Stefanie Pauly to the newly created role of chief information and technology officer. Pauly, who has more than ten years of experience in managing IT projects and process optimization in the air cargo industry, will be responsible for Jettainer’s innovation strategy, according to a Dec. 12 release. She previously worked at Lufthansa Cargo , where she managed digitalization, process optimization and innovation development projects. Most recently, she was head of fulfillment framework. As senior manager of supply chain optimization and strategy, she was in charge of the Airmail IT project, which digitalized the airline’s global handling processes.
