People: Jamere Jackson named next FedEx CFO

He succeeds Claude Russ, who has been interim CFO since June 1. Jackson most recently was CFO AutoZone since January 2021. FedEx said in a release that his background combines disciplined financial management, thoughtful capital allocation and operational experience to support business growth. Jackson has also been CFO at Hertz Global Holdings and Nielsen Holdings. NAC appoints Lester president, CEO Anchorage, Alaska-based Northern Air Cargo named Mark Lester to be its new president and chief executive in September. Lester succeeds Dave Karp, who had been interim CEO since March 2025. Lester had been head of aerospace strategy at engineering firm Merrick & Co. He also filled executive rolls at Alaska Aerospace and flight training school Doss Aviation. Jettainer taps Meitzner as managing director for Americas Jettainer has appointed Pinar Meitzner as managing director of Jettainer Americas. She succeeds Shailendra Kothari, who will retire at the end of the year after nearly seven years with the company. Before joining Jettainer, Meitzner was head of commercials US at DO & CO since 2024, and held leadership roles at LSG Sky Chefs in Europe and the United States. Schmidt new VP of cargo at Luxaviation One Luxaviation One, the dedicated charter brokerage division of Luxaviation Group, has appointed Markus Schmidt as vice president of cargo. Schmidt had been VP for European commercial cargo at Chapman Freeborn Airchartering. His career also includes senior positions at Etihad Airways, Celebi Aviation Holding and Asiana Airlines, with experience spanning cargo charter, commercial operations, airline and supplier relationships, strategic account management, and business development. Luxaviation ONE established its charter cargo department this year. Mammoth names Liu director of marketing for Asia [caption id="attachment_57299710" align="alignright" width="171"] Mike Liu (Courtesy/Mammoth Freighters)[/caption] Mammoth Freighters appointed Mike Liu director of marketing and sales for Asia. He will be responsible for leading sales and marketing activities for Mammoth’s 777 freighter conversion programs in the region, the company said. Prior to joining Mammoth, he had been commercial manager for cargo conversion, APAC base maintenance and private jet solutions for HAECO Xiamen, where had held other leadership positions over more than 15 years. Southwest Airlines promotes Philip Benjamin Philip has been promoted to cargo revenue management and capacity consultant at Southwest Airlines according to a social media post on Oct. 29. Philip has worked in cargo revenue roles at Southwest since 2017.
