IAI working on cargo door fix for 777-300ERSF

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""]IAI is working on finding a fix for issues that are preventing the new 777-300ERSF conversion’s door from closing properly, Cargo Facts has learned. Cargo Facts understands that, in some cases, the new 777-300ERSF’s main cargo door is not closing properly. This issue has supposedly been found with 777-300ERSFs being flown by Challenge Group and Kalitta Air. (Photo/Cargo Facts)[/caption] Several weeks ago, to get a temporary solution to market, IAI is said to have issued a revised loading protocol in which the lower compartment is to be loaded first. IAI reportedly is now working on a more comprehensive solution that will avoid the loading sequence. The more comprehensive fix is said to require a limited shop visit of perhaps several hours for all nine converted 777-300ERSFs in circulation. Cargo Facts could not determine the exact details of the fix. "As expected from a new product entering global service and operating around the clock, we maintain a very close contact with our customers to continuously capture operational feedback," IAI told Cargo Facts . "Any minor observations are addressed immediately and proactively incorporated into the aircraft currently in conversion, further strengthening the product offering." "These minor enhancements have no impact at all on commercial operations and are fully consistent with the normal entry into service maturation of a new aircraft platform," IAI said. Market participants say that kinks in a new conversion program are common. The 777-300ERSF went into service in October 2025 .
