Cargo Facts has launched the Cyber Aviation Global Forum, a new, digital event to take place on June 23.
The one-day virtual forum, presented by Royal Media and Cargo Facts in partnership with Tel Aviv-based aviation cybersecurity specialist Cyviation, is a new event highlighting the urgent need to address the complex cyber risk challenges across aircraft systems and operations in the aviation industry.
According to global technology company Thales, cybersecurity risks are soaring in aviation with twenty-seven “major” attacks by twenty-two ransomware groups between January 2024 and April 2025.
“As well as compromising flight operations, cyberattacks now also have strategic objectives such as industrial cyberespionage, access to sensitive technologies such as avionics and communication systems, disruption of supply chains and capture of high-value data such as diplomatic travel itineraries and confidential freight shipments,” Thales reported in June 2025.
Thales estimated the global aviation cybersecurity market would reach $5.3 billion last year, with average annual growth estimated of 8.7% by 2029, “driven in particular by the increasing digitalization of the sector and the intensified threat landscape.”
The event will assemble aviation leaders, cybersecurity experts, regulators and technology providers for sessions on:
- Regulatory cybersecurity compliance directives;
- Physical security of aircraft systems, devices and hardware; and
- How to bridge the gap between aircraft maintenance, operations and cybersecurity platforms.
“The aviation industry is entering a new phase where cybersecurity is no longer confined to IT systems — it is now an operational and regulatory imperative tied directly to aircraft,” said JJ Hornblass, CEO of Royal Media. “This forum is built to help industry leaders align across disciplines and take action.”
Register here for this free virtual event, which will start at 9:30 a.m. ET on June 23.
