Marcus Balzereit, president of FedEx Logistics, will join Cargo Facts Symposium 2026 for the panel discussion “Rebalancing capacity in the global freighter market” on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 9:15 a.m. (GMT -5).
The 32nd annual Cargo Facts Symposium will take place Oct. 21-23 at the Grand Hyatt in Nashville, Tenn., where industry leaders and decision-makers will gather to assess the latest trends and developments in the freighter sector, while sharing their insights to project the market’s growth trajectory.

Balzereit will be joined by:
- Andres Bianchi, chief executive of LATAM Cargo;
- Diogo Elias, CEO of Avianca Cargo; and
- Peter Penseel, president of Delta Cargo.
The cargo executives will discuss:
- Dealing with unpredictability in air cargo traffic flows and geopolitics;
- Adapting capacity to match demand — the need for fluidity and flexibility; and
- Strategies for maximizing freighter fleet utilization.

Balzereit became president of FedEx Logistics in June after working as senior vice president of sales and solutions for Asia Pacific at FedEx for more than a year. Prior to joining FedEx, he held leadership roles for nearly eleven years at Kuehne+Nagel and for more than fourteen years at DB Schenker.
FedEx Logistics is the global logistics arm of FedEx, providing customs brokerage and global ocean and air cargo forwarding.
It operates about 100 offices and facilities in thirty-four countries and territories throughout North America, Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Oceania, according to FedEx’s 2026 annual report, released July 20.
The company moved about 203,000 tonnes of air cargo in 2023, according to the 2024 Top 25 Freight Forwarders ranking from consultants Armstrong & Associates. In 2024, FedEx Logistics ranked 24th on the list but has not appeared on subsequent lists. Air cargo tonnage figures beyond 2023 were unavailable.
