A new freighter for Southern Air

Just after we sent out this week’s issue of Cargo Facts Update last night, we learned from US-based ACMI operator Southern Air that they have purchased another 747-200F. The freighter is an ex-Air Atlanta Icelandic unit (23476), which Southern bought from Wasps Aircraft Leasing.

Southern also recently acquired two 777Fs (which it is operating for Thai Airways) and has two more on order.
