Centurion to return to Amsterdam

Centurion announces its return to trans-Atlantic service

US-based all-cargo carrier Centurion Cargo, which has seen its share of troubles in the last year, appears set to re-launch its Miami-Amsterdam service.

As readers of Cargo Facts will know, Centurion was hit by a number of lawsuits in 2014, and was forced to ground its fleet of MD-11 freighters. However, in recent weeks the carrier resumed limited service between its Miami hub and various destinations in Latin America. And yesterday, it posted the graphic press release shown here, announcing the resumption in February of the Miami-Amsterdam service it cancelled last year.

Since Centurion does not have any 747 freighters in its own fleet, Cargo Facts believes the “brand new 747-400F noseloaders” will be operated on its behalf by sister carrier SkyLease Cargo, which has three 747-400ERFs and one 747-400F in its fleet (as well as two MD-11Fs). Centurion itself currently operates three MD-11Fs.
