Aergility to produce Vista drone with two UAE firms

Aergility will launch a new production line for its middle-mile Atlis and last-mile Vista drones with investors Calidus and Hameem Technologies. United Arab Emirates-based Calidus and Hameem Technologies, along with Aergility, announced their agreement to develop and produce the Atlis and Vista drones, Aergility Chief Executive Nick Hall told Cargo Facts . (Courtesy/Aergility)[/caption] Vista flight tests underway The drone maker began flight tests of its Vista unmanned aerial system in New Mexico in November 2025. The drone is a smaller variant of the Atlis, which is capable of providing last-mile logistics support. It also completed a demonstration flight on Jan.14, Hall said. Aergility’s 10-foot-wide Vista can carry 25 pounds of payload at a speed of 60 miles per hour. It is primarily designed for military use but can be converted for last-mile logistics support, Hall said. Meanwhile, the Atlis drone, which the company unveiled in 2022 to support the 100-mile segment , has not started flying for commercial customers and is still undergoing testing by the U.S. military, he said. The hybrid-electric drone contains a 40-cubic-foot cargo bay and is powered by a 90kW turboprop engine that propels six fixed-pitch, 9-foot-diameter electric rotors, enabling it to carry 400 to 500 pounds of cargo up to 600 miles at 100 mph. Aergility received a certificate of waiver authorization from the FAA in 2024 to conduct hover tests on its larger Atlis drone platform . The prototype conducted low-speed flight tests at 35 miles per hour in June of that year for investors and potential customers at Marion County Airport in Dunnellon, Fla., Aergility previously told Cargo Facts.
