Freighter aircraft transactions through mid-October
Every week in Cargo Facts Update, we include a list of recent freighter aircraft transactions, and then a comprehensive summary in the monthly issue of Cargo Facts. Each reference to a freighter aircraft transaction (FAT) in our publications contains a unique FAT code linked to the FAT database on the CargoFacts.com website. Below, we include the transactions from recent issues of Cargo Facts Update, and we encourage you to make use of the FAT database here on our website.
Azerbaijan-based Silk Way West Airlines acquired a 747-400F (29902, ex-Malaysia Airlines) on-lease from Aircraft Leasing & Management (ALM) [FAT 004666]. Back in August, Cargo Facts predicted the aircraft would end up in Silk Way’s fleet. This is the second ex-Malaysia Airlines 747-400F picked up by Silk Way.
Turkish Airlines took delivery of an A330-200F (1164, ex-Malaysia Airlines) on-lease from DVB Bank [FAT 004295]. Cargo Facts had expected the aircraft might end up in the Turkish freighter fleet since March 2018, when it became apparent that Royal Jordanian would not be operating the freighter.
FedEx retired an MD-10-10F (46973) [FAT 004667]. FedEx Express has twenty-three of the type remaining in its freighter fleet, all of which are expected to be retired by 2021.
US-based all-cargo carrier Kalitta Air took redelivery of a 767-300BDSF (26238, ex-Transaero) following its conversion to freighter configuration with Bedek in Mexico City (MEX) [FAT 004670].
Atlas Air took redelivery of a 767-300BDSF (28865, ex-Thomas Cook Airlines) after its conversion to freighter configuration by Bedek at its MRO facility in Tel Aviv [FAT 004671]. The aircraft is scheduled to enter service for Amazon Air.
YTO Cargo Airlines took redelivery of a 757-200PCF (29216, ex-China Southern Airlines) following conversion to freighter configuration by Precision at the HAECO facility in Xiamen [FAT 004668]. This is YTO’s fourth 757-200PCF. A fifth 757 (29215, ex-China Southern Airlines) has already been inducted for conversion in Xiamen and is expected to be redelivered shortly.
Uni-Top Airlines took redelivery of its sixth passenger-to-freighter converted A300-600F (741, ex-China Eastern), after its conversion at the EFW facility in Dresden [FAT 004676]. The aircraft is now headed to the Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co, Ltd (GAMECO) facility for painting before it enters operations.
Italy-based Mistral Air took delivery a 737-400 SF (28895, ex-Alaska) on lease from Automatic LLC. The aircraft was converted to freighter configuration by PEMCO at the COOPESA facility in San José (SJO) [FAT 004672].
US-based Everts Air Cargo took redelivery of an MD-83 SF (53471) following its conversion by Aeronautical Engineers, Inc in Dothan (DHN) [FAT 004673]. Everts Air also put another MD-83 (49855) into conversion with AEI last month.
