European road feeder service, Jan de Rijk Logistics has acquired Omega Logistics, which specializes in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector. Omega has a private, temperature-controlled distribution network for transporting sensitive goods to pharmacies, hospitals, patients and other health care facilities.
Omega’s director, Gerard van de Weert, said the entrepreneurial environment at Jan de Rijk fits the culture of the company, and that with this step it can grow in the area of health care logistics. Jan de Rijk will take over 100 percent of Omega, a Dutch-based logistics company. Jan de Rijk has been growing significantly in the health care sector. With this acquisition it will be able to grow its presence in the pharmaceutical and health care business even more.
