Mexico-based Aeronaves TSM will soon expand its ACMI operations with Mercado Libre-branded aircraft to include 737 freighters.
One of the carrier’s 737-400SFs, the 1996-vintage unit 28150 (ex-Comair), is now in the Latin American e-tailer’s yellow livery, according to at least two photos that Cargo Facts has seen.
The carrier operates two of its 1968-vintage DC-9s (47194, ex-Evergreen International Airlines, and 47148, ex-Dynamic Aviation) for Mercado Libre. Both of those aircraft are also in Mercado colors.
Unit 28150 left Dothan (DHN) in October 2021 after conversion with Aeronautical Engineers Inc. (AEI). The aircraft is not Aeronaves TSM’s first 737; the carrier already operates two PEMCO-converted 737-400Fs (28151, ex-Qantas, and 26529, ex-Colt Aviation) that it acquired in 2021.
Apart from that, Aeronaves TSM has so far acquired one more 737-400SF (24912, ex-Air Incheon) and at least five other 737-400s: units 24904 (ex-GetJet Airlines), 28723 (ex-Electra Airways), 24332 (ex-GetJet Airlines) 27630 (ex-Peruvian Airlines), 25848 and 26308 (both ex-Atlas Air).
The carrier, which has ordered at least seven 737-400SF conversions with AEI, also purchased a 737-300QC (23685, ex-Peruvian Airlines) and two ex-Orient Thai 737-300s (27138 and 25896).
Neither Mercado Libre nor Aeronaves TSM could be reached for comment.
Aeronaves TSM will become the second ACMI operator of Mercado Libre-branded 737s. The e-tailer began with two 737-400Fs (25375 and 24690) operated by Brazil-based Sideral Linhas Aereas.
Aeronaves TSM’s growing freighter fleet also includes MD-80s and CRJ-200s.
