New freighter additions spotted

Several widebody freighter aircraft poised to be added to operators’ fleets have been snapped by photographers around the world. First, it appears that Russia-based Volga-Dnepr Group plans to add the 777F platform, after all. — Paine Airport (@mattcawby) July 24, 2020 In early June, Boeing was given court approval to sell two 777Fs after Volga-Dnepr applied for a restraining order , claiming it had rescinded its repudiation of the contract earlier this year. The customer later turned out to be China Eastern ’s subsidiary, China Cargo Airlines . A third 777F was also involved in the dispute. All three aircraft were originally destined for ABC under a sale-leaseback agreement with DAE Capital in 2019 . The aircraft spotted in ABC’s livery is likely to be the third under that deal. Volga-Dnepr currently has a total of seven 777Fs on firm order, according to Boeing. ABC did not comment on its 777F plans. Earlier in July, we reported that Air Atlanta Icelandic will expand its fleet with two production 747-400Fs . The first of those aircraft (26563, ex-El Al) had exited storage in Marana (MZJ) and was brought to Shannon (SNN) to be painted, while the second (28263, ex-China Cargo Airlines) was still in Xiamen (XMN). The ACMI customers for these two aircraft are now clear. Unit 26563, as we had predicted, will be operated for U.K.-based Magma Aviation . The aircraft has recently been painted into Magma’s livery at the International Aerospace Coatings (IAC) facility at SNN, and was spotted by Donal Morrisey departing for Liege (LGG), one of Magma’s main operating hubs. This will be the first production 747-400F for Magma, for which Air Atlanta Icelandic also operates a -400BCF (24801) and two -400BDSFs (27066 and 27602). The aircraft was seen in its new colors at XMN in photos posted on Chinese social media. Air Atlanta Icelandic already operates two 747-400BDSFs (27898 and 27899) for Saudia and, until the end of 2019 , two 747-8Fs (37562 and 37563). Finally, an A300B4-200F (227), last in service with Mexico-based AeroUnion in September 2019, has been photographed in the livery of Venezuela-based Transcarga International Airways , except with “Cargo Three” titles. The aircraft carried out a test flight in Mexico City (MEX) July 23.
