Air France-KLM, Delta expand ‘one roof’ cargo alliance

All of Delta Cargo’s sales activities, booking and inquiries in France and Germany are now being handled by Air France-KLM as of this month, increasing the scope of the North Atlantic Joint Venture (NAJV) between the carriers.
This transfer of responsibilities is a continuation of the strategy that saw the carriers’ Belgian cargo operations merged in a similar fashion last month. Merging operations will reduce the number of drop-off points at airports, while also increasing the size of the overall cargo network.
These developments are part of a push by the carriers to fully integrate sales in Europe, which Kristin Colvile, managing director – Delta Cargo revenue management and sales development, explained would, “create a trans-Atlantic network covering all major markets in the U.S. and Europe.”
Delta and Air France first introduced their “one roof” initiative at Paris Charles de Gaulle in February 2015. Earlier this month, Delta Cargo and Virgin Atlantic Cargo also began to co-locate their airfreight handling activities under the same roof at 12 U.K. locations.
