Astral Aviation Chief Executive Sanjeev Gadhia will join Cargo Facts EMEA 2023 for the panel discussion “Assessing Africa’s potential and pitfalls for airfreight advancement” on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 9:05 a.m. (GMT +4).
Cargo Facts EMEA will return to Dubai on Feb. 6-8. The event will bring together industry experts, offering access to emerging airfreight technology and providing solutions to challenges affecting today’s air cargo market.

Kenya-based Astral Aviation first hinted that it would grow its fleet with 767Fs and 757Fs at Cargo Facts EMEA 2021. This past year, the airline took delivery of its first 757-200PCF and told Cargo Facts that it is also looking at adding four A330-300P2Fs.
Meanwhile, Astral has also recently begun the phase-out of its remaining 727F fleet, and in the regional and small aircraft market, the carrier has selected the E190F conversion by signing a memorandum of understanding to lease two of the type from Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC). The airline has also partnered with autonomous aircraft technology developer Reliable Robotics to develop and test autonomous freighter operations in sub-Saharan Africa.
Gadhia founded Astral Aviation in 2000 and has served as CEO in the twenty-two years since.
