Cargo Facts logged ninety Freighter Aircraft Transactions (FATs) in August, as 2021 continues to be a record year for freighter activity.
While DHL Express and FedEx Express took delivery of several new 767Fs and 777Fs during the month, the vast majority of FATs involved carriers and lessors acquiring feedstock frames; sending them for conversion into freighters; and taking redelivery of them after conversion.
Overall, there were thirty-seven widebody transactions, including Cargo Aircraft Management’s (CAM) commitment to twenty A330 conversion slots with Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW). A321s and 737-800s dominated the narrowbody transactions, with BBAM ordering eighteen more A320/A321 conversions with EFW.
DHL Express took delivery of a 777F (66863) from Boeing, and placed it with AeroLogic for CMI operation [FATs 006526-6527].
FedEx Express took delivery of a 777F (40679) from Boeing, and ferried it from Everett (PAE) to Memphis (MEM) [FAT 006580].
Western Global Airlines acquired an MD-11F (48781, ex-Lufthansa Cargo) [FAT 006310].
FedEx retired an MD-10-30F (48297) and ferried it to Victorville (VCV) for storage [FAT 006536].
Turkey-based ULS Airlines Cargo acquired an A330-300 (356, ex-Sunclass Airlines) [FAT 006486].
CDB Aviation inducted for conversion an A330-300 (964, ex-China Southern Airlines). The aircraft will be converted by Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) in Dresden (DRS) [FAT 006496].
French forwarder Geodis took delivery of an A330-300P2F (713, ex-AirAsia) on lease from Monaco-based Stratos, and placed it with Titan Airways for CMI operation [FATs 006442-6443].
Cargo Aircraft Management (CAM) committed to twenty A330 conversion slots with EFW [FATs 006537-6556].
SF Airlines acquired a 767-300ER (30108, ex-Air Canada) [FAT 006485].
SF Airlines also inducted for conversion a 767-300ER (30850, ex-Air Canada). The aircraft will be converted by Boeing at the ST Engineering facility at QPG [FAT 006498].
FedEx Express took delivery of two 767-300Fs (66252 and 63127) from Boeing. The aircraft were both ferried to Indianapolis (IND) [FATs 006484 and 006503].
DHL Express took redelivery of a 767-300BCF (33082, ex-American Airlines) after conversion with Boeing in Singapore (QPG), and ferried it to Bahrain (BAH) [FAT 006495].
CAM inducted for conversion a 767-300ER (32973, ex-ANA). The aircraft will be converted by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) in Tel Aviv (TLV) [FAT 06501].
CAM also took redelivery of a 767-300BDSF (27451, ex-American Airlines) after conversion with IAI at TLV [FAT 006508].
CAM also placed a 767-300BDSF (27449, ex-Omni Air) on lease with Amerijet [FAT 006531].
Cargojet acquired a 757-200 (22690, ex-Mexican Air Force) [FAT 006532].
SF Airlines acquired a 757-200 (30548, ex-American Airlines) from AerSale [FAT 006533].
North-western Cargo International Airlines took redelivery of a 757-200PCF (34009, ex-Xiamen Airlines) after conversion with Precision Aircraft Solutions in Chengdu (CTU) [FAT 006535].
Titan Airways stopped operating an A321-200P2F (1238, ex-Thomas Cook Airlines) in ACMI service for Amerijet, and ferried it to Malta (MLA) [FAT 006497].
GTLK Europe inducted for conversion two A321-200s (2912 and 2342). The aircraft will return to SmartLynx after conversion with EFW in Guangzhou (CAN) [FATs 006500 and 006577].
Vallair took redelivery of an A321-200P2F (1017, ex-R Airlines) after conversion with EFW in Guangzhou (CAN), and ferried it to Montpellier (MPL) [FAT 006506].
Qantas took redelivery of its second A321-200P2F (1195) after conversion with EFW in Singapore (XSP) [FAT 006511].
BBAM committed to eighteen A320/A321P2F conversion slots with EFW, and will lease two A321-200P2Fs to Lufthansa Cargo [FATs 006557-6576].
BlackRock placed an order for three more 737-800SF conversions with Aeronautical Engineers Inc. [FATs 006492-6494].
ASL Airlines took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (35550, ex-Ryanair) after conversion to freighter configuration by Boeing in Shanghai (PVG) [FAT 006499].
GECAS took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (33546, ex-Ryanair) after conversion with Boeing in Shanghai (PVG), and placed it on lease to ASL Airlines [FATs 006512-6513].
Panama-based Copa Airlines committed to two 737-800BCF conversion slots with Boeing, and inducted the first aircraft (33709) for conversion at CAN [FATs 006516-6518].
Malaysia-based Kargo Xpress agreed to lease a pair of 737-800BCFs from GECAS [FATs 006521-6522].
GA Telesis took redelivery of a 737-800SF (28826, ex-Blue Air) after conversion with AEI in Miami (MIA), and placed it on lease with Compass Cargo Airlines [FATs 006524-6525].
GA Telesis also inducted for conversion a 737-800 (28616, ex-SunExpress). The aircraft will be converted by AEI in Dothan (DHN) [FAT 006523].
Bahrain-based Texel Air acquired its first 737-800 (29985, ex-Korean Air) and inducted it for conversion with Boeing in Jinan (TNA) [FATs 006529-6530].
Texel Air also took redelivery of its second 737-700FC (34170, ex-Transavia), after conversion with PEMCO in Tampa (TPA) [FAT 006528].
Aeronaves TSM acquired two 737-400s (25848, ex-British Airways, and 26308, ex-Mistral Air) from Atlas Air [FATs 006490-6491].
Aeronaves TSM also acquired a 737-300 (25896, ex-Orient Thai Airlines) from World Aviation Services [FAT 006507].
Kalitta Charters II acquired a 737-300F (26072, ex-South African Airways) from Aero Acquisitions [FAT 006488].
