SHANGHAI — Cargo Facts Asia 2026 returns to Shanghai this week, bringing together industry leaders, executives and market stakeholders at the W Shanghai to examine the market dynamics shaping air cargo growth across the Asia-Pacific region.

The conference, taking place March 23-25, will examine key trends influencing the freighter sector, with a particular focus on freighter growth and evolving trade patterns.

China leads the growth of the production 777 freighter model within the region, with sixty-one aircraft now in service across six carriers, according to the most recent Cargo Facts research. China Cargo Airlines and China Southern Cargo currently operate the largest 777F fleets at nineteen each, and further deliveries are expected to accelerate the type’s growth in the country.

Meanwhile, A330 freighters, particularly the -200P2F variant, continue to expand their presence in China, with thirty-seven aircraft in service with six operators. Air China Cargo has become the largest operator of the A330-200P2F conversion, while new entrants Hong Kong Air Cargo and JD Airlines have adopted the type to capitalize on increasing demand tied to e-commerce and regional trade flows.

Outside of China, the region has seen an uptick in startups, specifically in Southeast Asia, where new narrowbody operators are emerging.

Malaysia-based Sin-Kung Airways this month completed its first proving flights as it prepares to begin commercial service with its 1998-vintage 737-400SF (29204).

And Indonesia-based Aero Nusantara Cargo began flying an ex-Central Airlines 737-300F (26854) in November 2025 after obtaining its AOC from the Indonesian Directorate General of Civil Aviation, joining eight other carriers in the country operating 737 freighters.
