Atlanta-based Delta Cargo now offers CEIV-Pharma certified facilities at seven locations in Europe following the most recent addition of the carrier’s Dusseldorf station.
Delta Cargo’s other European stations to hold CEIV approval include Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Milan, Paris-CDG and Rome. The CEIV-Pharma facilities are operated in cooperation with Air France-KLM.
Delta is making “significant investments” in the pharmaceutical-handling field, said Delta’s vice president for cargo, Shawn Cole. “Our priority boarding and quick connection times minimize exposure to outside temperatures ensuring the integrity of the product – vital for transporting medicine to patients.”
In July, Delta was the first global carrier based in the United States to receive CEIV certification for pharmaceutical handling. The carrier now has 50 approved stations across the world and offers four pharma shipping options, depending on temperature-control needs.
