DHL Express doubles Tucson cargo capacity

DHL Express is investing US$2.8 million in its Tucson hub, this week releasing news of a move to a new service center three minutes from the Tucson International Airport (TUS), which would nearly double the previous facility’s size at about 23,500 square feet.

John Fox, vice president and general manager for DHL Express said the “new facility is addressing the overall increase in international shipping volume” among its regional customers, especially in e-commerce.

The location is certified by the International Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA), a cargo theft prevention organization, which required the facility to complete an audit process in order to gain certification.
