June sees 100 freighter aircraft transactions

Cargo Facts logged a record 100 freighter aircraft transactions (FATs) in June 2021, capping off what has been the busiest six months in terms of freighter orders, deliveries, inductions, redeliveries, purchases and placements. Thanks to an order for twenty 767-300Fs from FedEx , medium widebody freighters were firmly at the center of this buzz of activity, but 737s, 757s and 757s also saw plenty of action. Another highlight was the redelivery and entry into service of the first 321 Precision Conversions A321-200PCF, now in ACMI operation with SmartLynx Malta for DHL Express. Below is a complete list of FATs recorded last month. These transactions originally appeared on page 12 of our July 2021 issue , available to subscribers, and are in our FAT Database . National Airlines acquired a 747-400BCF (25308) from Alterna Capital Partners. The aircraft previously flew as the Supertanker [FAT 006302]. GECAS firmed up three 777-300ERSF conversion options with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) [FATs 006371-6373]. Kalitta Air placed a lease order for two more 777-300ERSFs with GECAS [FATs 006374-6375]. Western Global Airlines acquired the first of three MD-11Fs (48784) from Lufthansa Cargo [FAT 006308]. Lufthansa Cargo ordered a 777F from Boeing [FAT 006270]. An unidentified customer ordered six 777Fs from Boeing. Cargo Facts believes the customer is FedEx [FATs 006293-6298]. Qatar Airways took delivery of two 777Fs (66871 and 66872) from Boeing [FATs 006333-6334]. FedEx Express removed from service three MD-10-10Fs (46616, 46521 and 46947), and ferried them to Victorville (VCV) for retirement [FATs 006273-6274 and 006289]. FedEx also took delivery of two 767-300Fs (63124 and 63125) from Boeing. The aircraft were ferried to Indianapolis (IND) and Memphis (MEM), respectively [FATs 006311 and 006332]. FedEx also firmed up options to purchase twenty more 767-300Fs from Boeing [FATs 006351-6370]. Northern Aviation Services acquired a 767-300ER (30563, ex-Ethiopian Airlines) [FAT 006291]. Cargo Aircraft Management (CAM) acquired five 767-300ERs (24984, ex-Delta; 25121, ex-Air Canada; 25269, ex-Delta; 25241, ex-Delta; and 25585, ex-Air Canada) [FATs 006282-6283, 006290, and 006341-6342]. CAM also inducted for conversion a 767-300ER (24307, ex-Air Canada) that it will lease back to Air Canada. The aircraft will be converted by IAI in Tel Aviv (TLV) [FAT 006307]. DHL Express inducted for conversion a 767-300ER (33088, ex-American Airlines). The aircraft was ferried to Singapore (QPG) for conversion with Boeing at the ST Engineering facility [FAT 006281]. SF Airlines took redelivery of a 767-300BCF (30342, ex-Pegas Fly), and ferried it from QPG to Shenzhen (SZX) [FAT 006324]. SF Airlines also acquired two 767-300ERs (30846, ex-Air Canada, and 28206, ex-LATAM), and inducted the former for conversion with Boeing at QPG [FATs 006338-6340]. Amazon took redelivery of a 767-300BDSF (25363, ex-WestJet) after conversion with IAI in Mexico City (MEX), and placed it with Cargojet for CMI operation. The aircraft was ferried to Hamilton (YHM) [FATs 006337 and 006376]. Altavair inducted for conversion an A330-200 (868, ex-Etihad Airways). The aircraft was ferried from Abu Dhabi (AUH) to the Elbe Flugzeugwerke facility in Dresden (DRS) [FAT 006336]. DHL transferred a 767-200BDSF (22572) from Atlas Air to Amerijet for CMI operation [FATs 006275-6276]. Cargojet acquired a 767-200ER (30432, ex-UTair) [FAT 006327]. Denmark-based Star Air took delivery of a 767-200BDSF (2222, ex-West Atlantic) on lease from CAM [FAT 006279]. AerSale acquired three 757-200s (32399, 32382 and 32379) from American Airlines [FATs 006284, 006300 and 006343]. AerSale also inducted for conversion a 757-200 (32386, ex-American Airlines). The aircraft will be converted by Precision Aircraft Solutions at AerSale’s own facility in Goodyear (GYR) [FAT 006285]. Cargojet acquired a 757-200PCF (29594, ex-American Airlines) from AerSale, which had converted the aircraft at GYR [FATs 006305-6306]. BlackRock acquired three ex-TUI Airways 757-200s along with three slots to convert the aircraft to freighter configuration with Precision Aircraft Solutions [FATs 006313-6318]. Amerijet took delivery of its first 757-200PCF (29311, ex-Icelandair), on lease from Nehalem 29311 LLC, after conversion by Precision Aircraft Solutions at the Avocet facility in Sanford (SFB) [FATs 006321-6323]. YTO Cargo Airlines took redelivery of a 757-200PCF (34008, ex-Xiamen Airlines), after conversion by Precision Aircraft Solutions at the HAECO Xiamen facility [FAT 006327]. SmartLynx Malta took delivery of its first A321-200PCF (891, ex-Air Mediterranee), on lease from Vallair, and began operating it on an ACMI basis for DHL Express [FATs 006287 and 006328]. GECAS took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (33717, ex-Ryanair) after conversion by Boeing in Jinan (TNA), and leased it to Russia-based Atran [FATs 006277-6278]. Bahrain-based Texel Air placed a 737-800BCF conversion order with Boeing [FAT 006288]. BlackRock took redelivery of a 737-800SF (29916, ex-AnadoluJet), and ferried it from TNA to Dothan (DHN) [FAT 006292]. ASL Airlines acquired a 737-800 (35552, ex-Ryanair), and inducted it for conversion with Boeing at TNA [FATs 006325-6326]. ASL Airlines also took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (33623, ex-Ryanair) after conversion to freighter configuration by Boeing in Guangzhou (CAN) [FAT 006331]. Aero Capital Solutions acquired a 737-800 (30291, ex-Air Europa) from Aviation Capital Group, and inducted it for conversion with Aeronautical Engineers Inc. (AEI) in Miami (MIA) [FATs 006329-6330]. ASL Airlines Belgium began operating a 737-800BCF (33604, ex-Ryanair) on an ACMI basis for FedEx [FAT 006335]. ICBC Leasing acquired two 737-800BCFs (30786 and 30787) from BBAM. The aircraft are on lease to China Postal Airlines [FATs 006344-6349]. Aeronaves TSM acquired a 737-400 (28723, ex-Electra Airways) from Maverick Horizon, ahead of conversion with AEI [FAT 006301]. China-based Central Airlines acquired a 737-300F (25603, ex-Suparna Airlines) [FAT 006272]. Mexico-based TUM AeroCarga took delivery of a 737-300QC (24255, ex-European Aviation), on lease from Avmax. The aircraft is in freighter configuration [FAT 006286]. Lithuania-based KlasJet returned a 737-300F (25263) off lease to affiliate Bluebird Nordic [FAT 006299]. Bahrain-based MENA Cargo Airlines took delivery of a 737-300F (27710, ex-Southwest Airlines), on lease from Rostrum Leasing. The aircraft had been converted by PEMCO [FATs 006303-6304]. Nauru Airlines took redelivery of a 737-300SF (25607), after conversion by AEI at the Commercial Jet facility at MIA [FAT 006350].
