0826 Monika Wiederhold-vertWe are thrilled to announce that Monika Wiederhold, Vice President of Product Management and Innovation for Lufthansa Cargo, will speak at the premiere of Air Cargo World’s ELEVATE 2016 Conference on Oct. 10 at the Mandarin Oriental Miami hotel.

Wiederhold, who has been working jointly with the RocketSpace co-working service on a Logistics Tech Accelerator for logistics startups, will take part in ELEVATE’s “Fireside Chat” session, where she will discuss strategic approaches to innovation in the air cargo business. Some topics in the discussion will include collaborative efforts to address overcapacity, yield pressure, competition from integrators and the challenge of new disruptors on the scene, such as online shipping startups and e-commerce firms.

The half-hour Fireside Chat session – an informal, frank dialogue on the latest issues affecting airfreight innovation – will take place at the Miami-based event at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 10.

Wiederhold began her career at Lufthansa as a manager in network planning systems in February 1995 and fulfilled a variety of increasingly senior positions at the German carrier.  In September 2011, she was appointed Vice President Product Management and Competence Center at Lufthansa Cargo AG, reporting directly to the Board Member for Product and Sales. Wiederhold is a graduate in mathematics from Darmstadt Technical University. She also holds an MBA from Ashridge Management College in the U.K.

Other knowledgeable speakers confirmed at ELEVATE will include Dirk Schusdziara from Fraport, Terry Hartmann of Unisys, Phil von Mecklenburg-Blumenthal of Freightos, Mike Gamel of Mexpress, Sara Van Gelder of Brussels Airport, Mike Morey of Franwell Technologies, and many others

elevate-acwELEVATE, the new conference hosted by Air Cargo World, is the air cargo and aviation world’s first event focused exclusively on innovation in operations.  With a unique blend of fireside chats, presentations, and interactive, small group session that focus on inspiring operational efficiency in air cargo and air logistics, ELEVATE is designed to enlighten the logistics community’s leading decision makers.

The event will gather forwarders, air carriers, shippers, and top startup founders to connect and discover the critical strategies and technology opportunities for today’s airfreight operations. At ELEVATE, we will tackle innovation challenges, such as advanced route development strategies, methods for leveraging deep data analysis and learnings from the startup scene.
