Menzies Aviation UK ops grow with contract renewals and wins 

Menzies Aviation has won and renewed several contracts for operations in the United Kingdom (U.K.), the company announced today. Contracts awarded and renewed to Menzies Aviation are for its services for a variety of carriers out of four U.K. airports, including Glasgow (GLA), Edinburgh (EDI), London Gatwick (LGW) and London Heathrow (LHR) 

At GLA, Menzies was awarded a three-year contract to provide Lufthansa passenger, ramp and de-icing services out of the airport, beginning December 2019. The ground handler was also awarded a five-year seasonal contract providing United Airlines passenger and ramp services for the airlines’ B752 operation at GLA beginning in March 2020, upon the start of the carrier’s summer schedule. 

Menzies will provide passenger, ramp and de-icing services for Swiss leisure airline Edelweiss Air at EDI beginning November 2019 for a term of three years. Lufthansa and United Airlines have also renewed their ground handling contracts with Menzies at EDI, for terms of there and five years, respectively. 

Meanwhile, Wizz Air renewed its passenger, ramp, cleaning and de-icing contract with Menzies Aviation for a three-year term at LGW. The renewal extends the partnership between the two companies since June 2016 at the airport. Menzies will service four Wizz Air flights daily for the carrier during Summer and two daily flights during Winter. Moroccan carrier Royal Air Maroc has also extended its ground handling agreement with Menzies out of LGW. Under this contract, Menzies will provide passenger, ramp and cabin cleaning services to the Middle Eastern carrier for another three years. 

Lastly, Tap Air Portugal renewed its ground handling contract with Menzies Aviation at LHR for three more years. The contract includes delivery of passenger, ramp and ticketing services. Middle Eastern Airlines also extended its ground handling contract with Menzies Aviation for another two years. Contract renewals for both companies with Menzies Aviation for operations at LHR began in September 2019. 

These new contract developments grow Menzies’ presence in the U.K. Just last month, Loganair also selected Menzies Aviation to handle its ground operations out of Manchester Airport (MAN).
